Sons of Liberty Spirits Company (SOL) located in the beautiful and picturesque New England region was founded to revolutionize and re-define American Whiskey. By challenging a long history of traditions, the new American Whiskey was re-born in the form of SOL Single Malt Whiskey and seasonal whiskies. America is in love with beer and has always been, and over the last decade or so, she has become enamored with a growing market of seasonal beers, craft beers, IPA’s, etc… SOL took the advantage of this long-standing love by using beer in creating a unique line of American Whiskies, including the first ever line of seasonal whiskies.
Sons of Liberty believe that the better beer you brew will result in a more complex and flavorful distilled whiskey. These beers, Uprising and Battle Cry (wort beer) are great companions to be enjoyed with the single malts produced from those beers. These are beers are not sold, but can be enjoyed on Friday nights, where guests can sample the beer side by side with the distilled whiskey. You won’t see this anywhere else. Also, little carbonation is added to the bottles and is done without filtering unlike commercially beers which are filtered.

Uprising – American Single Malt Whiskey
Born from a stout beer (100% malted barley) using classic American Ale Yeast and double-distilled in new Charred American Oak barrels. It is not chill filtered and no colorings or flavors added during the process.
Tasting Notes – Roasted notes with distinct coffee and mocha flavors on the finish.
Battle Cry – American Single Malt Whiskey
Born from a Belgian beer (100% malted grains with 20% malted rye) using traditional Belgian Trappist Yeast and double-distilled in new Charred American Oak barrels. Not chill filtered and no colorings or flavors added during the process.
Tasting Notes – Spice notes with hints of dark fruit and a sweet, complex finish.

Pumpkin Spice Flavored Whiskey and Hop-Flavored Whiskey - Seasonal Whiskies
Sons of Liberty continues to establish itself as one of the industry’s fastest growing and most innovative producers of American Craft Whiskey. Sons of Liberty was very recently named 2015 Best Flavored Whiskey in North America by Whisky Magazine’s World Whiskies Awards for its Hop Flavored Whiskey. Sons of Liberty’s Hop Flavored Whiskey is part of the first-ever, seasonal line of whiskies and its seasonal counterpart, Pumpkin Spice Whiskey, took home a World’s Best award from last year’s World Whiskies Awards in the Flavored Whiskey Category.
“Winning a World’s Best award last year for our Pumpkin Spice Whiskey was amazing and being recognized again in the Best Flavored Category, for a different whiskey, gives us even more motivation to push the envelope and continue to innovate American craft whiskey,” said Mike Reppucci . Exuding a true pumpkin flavor lacking the sugary, saccharin taste common to flavored spirits, Pumpkin Spice is aged in American Oak barrels and each batch is infused with locally grown pumpkins and a toasty mix of seasonal New England flavor. Pumpkin Spice comes on the heels of Sons of Liberty’s Summer Release – Hop Flavored Whiskey, quenching a craft lovers summertime thirst with light, citrusy notes of lemon and grapefruit, born from a traditionally brewed IPA.
True Born Gin - Genever Style Gin
After the Rhode Island distillery introduced whiskey drinkers to the very first seasonal line of whiskies it is revolutionizing another spirit category with the launch of its True Born Gin line in June 2015.The Belgian Wheat Act, the first expression in the line, is a Genever Style Gin distilled from a Belgian Wheat beer and declares Sons of Liberty’s entry into, and redefinition of, the gin category.
“True Born serves notice that there is more to gin than neutral spirits infused with a myriad of botanicals and that a spirit category dating back to the middle-ages can be reinvented with innovative distillation,” said Mike Reppucci. “We will never enter a category unless we can reinvent it. We are proud to say that is what we have done here, whether everyone is ready for it is another question.”
Sons of Liberty brewed a Belgian Wheat beer composed of barley, wheat and oats and infused that mash with coriander, sweet orange peel, lemongrass, cascade and chinook hops. The Belgian Wheat Act is distilled four times providing an amazingly full body and rich flavor.
“We looked at the botanicals of a lot of gins and saw coriander, orange peel, lemongrass, etc. and thought…Belgian Wheat beer!” said Reppucci. “Similar in concept to our whiskies, True Born Gin is the first line of gins distilled from craft beer styles.” In the gin basket, the same botanicals present in the mash are infused with the spirit in addition to juniper berries (a requirement for gin).
The Belgian Wheat Act delivers clean citrus flavors with light notes of juniper. Its long finish with a subtle sweetness is a stark contrast to the excessive pine flavor of common gin. The infused coriander provides a refreshing herbal scent to complement The Belgian Wheat Act’s complex body and mouthfeel.
Sons of Liberty Spirits Company has brought two Drammie Awards back to the Ocean State with victories in the categories of 2015 Best Whiskey Distillery and Best Whiskey Packaging (UPRISING American Single Malt). The Drammie Awards, presented by ForWhiskeyLovers.com, encourages whiskey enthusiasts to share which products from within the whiskey industry they did or didn’t like over the past year and puts the power of recognition in the hands of the consumer. Sons of Liberty was nominated in a total of four categories in the 2015 Drammie Awards including Best Whiskey Packaging (UPRISING American Single Malt), Best Whiskey Distillery Tour, Best Whiskey Distillery, and Best New Whiskey of 2014 (Battle Cry American Single Malt).
“We are honored to have taken two of four Drammie awards back to South Kingstown this year,” said Sons of Liberty Owner, Mike Reppucci. “The voting for The Drammies is put strictly into the hands of the consumers and when a smaller local distillery beats out other internationally-recognized and distributed brands, it speaks volumes to our loyal fan base and we cannot thank them enough.”
Despite being distributed in only Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Sons of Liberty won Best Whiskey Distillery, prevailing over acclaimed international distilleries including: Balcones Distillery (Waco, TX); Glenfarclas Distillery (Scotland); Edradour Distillery (Scotland) and High West Distillery (Park City, UT). Sons of Liberty finds itself in good company, as previous years’ winners of the category included internationally renowned distilleries Glenmorangie (Scotland, 2014); Bruichladdich (Islay, 2013) and Laphroaig (Islay, 2012).
SOL also beat Highland Park (Scotland); The Girvan Patent Still (UK); Tin Cup Whiskey (Denver, CO) and Few Spirits Bourbon (Chicago, IL) for its Best Whiskey Packaging win.
Battle Cry Boulevardier

- 1 oz Battle Cry American Single Malt Whiskey
- 1 oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth
- 1 oz Campari
- Garnish orange twist
- Glass - Cocktail
Prep - Add all ingredients to a mixing tin. Shake well with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish orange twist. Perfect as an after-dinner drink.

- 1.5 oz Uprising American Single Malt Whiskey
- 3/4 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
- 1 oz Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
- 1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
- Garnish lemon peel and maraschino cherry
- Glass - Coupe
Prep - All all ingredients to a mixing tin. Shake well with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish lemon peel and cherry.

True Born Orange Blossom
- 1 oz True Born Genever Style Gin
- 1/2 oz Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur
- 1/2 oz Fresh Lemon juice
- 3/4 oz Simple Syrup
- Splash of orange juice
- Half an egg white
- Few drops of Wild Hibiscus Co. wild hibiscus syrup
- Garnish Hibiscus Flower and orange peel
- Glass - Wine goblet
Prep - Add all ingredients in a mixing tin. Shake well and strain into a chilled over-sized wine goblet. Garnish hibiscus flower and orange peel.
